Sophie Calle

Sophie Calle
Sophie Calle
Sophie Calle is a very interesting artist who captured more than just an image. Her work created stories form personal items, objects, and scenarios. Some of her photographs and best pieces were derived from interfering with the personal lives of others, using their personal items, and photographing their intimate moments. Other images portray people passing by, unmade beds, and personal journals that put together create a piece. Her art can be perceived humorous because of the way she gathers images, such as working as a stripper or at a hotel to capture the lives of its visitors. Over the weekend, while traveling to Brooklyn the street art grasped my attention and inspired me to make my selfie based on the work of others. There are stories behind the artwork, especially in the street. What inspires an artist, the tools they used, and dedication it took are a beautiful form of art that is often ignored. The sidewalk, walls, and personal stories of these talented individuals are factors that play into these beautiful masterpieces that society gets to pass by every day.
