Self Invention
The artist I was inspired by was Yousef Karsh. Karsh was a portrait photographer known for photographing people such as Winston Churchill, Audrey Hepburn, and Fidel Castro, his work became significant in the portrait photography realm. He enjoyed using subtle lighting and during his time, there were only black and white cameras, therefore his work were almost all black and white. Karsh had a knack for capturing the essence of subject, showing their true selves, and I aimed to show a hint of that within myself.
