Sophie Calle

I decided to approach my weekly selfie assignment based on Sophie Calle's birthday present display cases. I feel that these are a form of self portraits because they tell a story of what she is like through her relationships to those around her, and what they think of her, which influences what they would give her as gifts. I created my own self portrait using this concept, by photographing a selection of gifts I have received within the past year. Since I do not display my gifts like Sophie Calle does, they have all been used, but I believe this helps showcase more about myself based on the amount of use an object receives.
