My final project is inspired by Cindy Sherman. I plan to take a series of photographs based on the different "selves" I project to others and present the photos in an accordion book. The different "selves" will be exaggerated to become characters through the use of costume, makeup, setting, and other strategies when taking the photographs, much the way Cindy Sherman creates characters in her Film Stills and similar works.
So far I have created the accordion book base out of cardboard, which I plan to prime with gesso and/or paint and refine the edges before gluing photos to the panels.
I have two photos or "characters" finished so far.
I still have to edit the photos somewhat but I will save that for when I have taken all the photos that I need. I also have some notes and ideas for the project that help outline what I will do next:
