Week 5: Midterm Project

Not My President/Fuck Donald Trump 2018

What is the subject of your image?
The subject of my image is myself and how I’m being bombarded by Trump and all his mistakes in office and his hatred racists remarks. Symbolizing his corruption in our government.

What is the content of your image?
The content of my image is anti-Trump and all of his shenanigans.

Why did you make the choices that led to the composition?
I wanted to do an anti-Trump piece because Trump represents corruption in our government.

What do you think this image conveys to the viewers?
Based off of my expression, I tried to convey how Americans are pretty much fed up of Trump and his regime, and how his statements and actions are no longer have any shock value to me anymore.

What artists have influenced your self portrait?
The overall inspiration of this collage comes from Kurt Schwitters collage. I am inspired by the overall meaning and symbolizing behind his collages not the overall content. I wanted to create something that everybody can relate to and something political as well.

What techniques have you used to create your self portrait?
In the collage, I used several of Trump’s most offensive tweets, headlines from news articles, some political cartoons, and some digital drawings. For the self portrait, I used an image of myself looking uninterested, annoyed, and bothered. The goal was for me to look over the situation. I was also able to create a digital drawing  of Donald Trump as well. I also cut out some images from magazines that I thought I could incorporate for my collage.

Why and how does this project represent you?
In my collage, I represent the typical American. At this point, I am very tired and over Trump. I feel that my collage represents how feed up everybody is.
